ISECG Annual Report 2022 published

The Annual Report 2022 of the International Space Exploration Coordination Group (ISECG) has been published and provides an overview of the ISECG achievements and activities over the past year.

2022 was again characterised by dynamic developments in the international space exploration arena such as the update to the 2022 Global Exploration Roadmap (GER) supplement. Following the release of the GER in January 2018 and the subsequent release of the 2020 Lunar Surface Exploration Scenario Update (‘GER Supplement’), ISECG released a new 2022 GER Supplement refining lunar objectives, updating mission plans.

In advanced technology, the Annual report discussed progress toward analysing gaps in technology. One such domain is Nuclear Power and Propulsion, an identified gap to support human space exploration.

ISECG also reported on progress on commercialisation of space and the growth of emerging space agencies. This remains consistent with the desire by member agencies to engage in focused international strategic exchanges on commercialisation opportunities and coordination to build new strategic partnerships especially between established and emerging space agencies.

In 2022, the Annual Report also outlined celebrations for 15 years of ISECG collaboration, its growth and fostering of the spirit of space exploration. Global interest in space exploration grows with Governments and the public, as ISECG membership expands to 27 International space agencies.
